Amusing encounters

Borracho: "Para ir por aqui, voy bien?"
Respuesta: "Pues, no sabemos, no somos de aqui!"

Drunkard: "If I go this way, am I going the right way?"
Response: "Well, we don't know, we're not from around here!"

Espanoles: "Hemos perdido un Junkie"
Inglesa: "Uhh, quereis decir un Yankie, no?"

Durante un viaje a Segovia con unos profes, lectores de ingles y otros... un problema de pronunciacion.. es que 'Junkie' en ingles significa un drogadicto, y 'Yankie' significa 'Americano'. Mucha risa de mi parte porque no sabia que querian decir de los Americanos!

Spaniards: "We've lost a Junkie"
English girl: "Umm, you mean Yankie, no?"

During a trip to Segovia with several teachers, English assistants and others... a problem with pronunciation of Junkie and Yankie.... not sure what they were trying to say about the American boys...!


English guy in bar: Wanker, Wanker!
English girl: What did you just say?
Guy: Wanker!
English girl: But, why?
Guy: Huancar ... Juancar... short for Juan Carlos, the owner/bar guy in Queru

-Yes, in Spanish, it is perfectly normal for the name Juan Carlos, to be shortened to Juancar... in fact, the King of Spain is a Juancar too!

Ingles en un bar: Juancar, Juancar! (Gilipollas, Gilipollas!)
Inglesa: Que has dicho?
Ingles: Juancar! (Gilipollas!)
Inglesa: Pero, porque?
Ingles: Juancar ... como Juan Carlos, el dueno/camarero del Queru

-La Inglesa (si si, yo) pensaba que el Ingles estaba gritando 'Gilipollas' que en ingles es 'Wanker' y se pronuncia mas o menos como 'Juancar'.


"I'm very upset, I dropped my heart"
- My first weekend back in Soria after summer, we met a guy who decided to tell us all about how upset he was because his girlfriend had broken up with him, and therefore, he had dropped his heart. Everytime we talk about this guy, or see him around, he's now affectionately known as the guy who dropped his heart!

"Estoy muy triste, se me cayo el corazon"
- Mi primer finde de vuelta en Soria, nos encontramos con este chico que nos explico que su novia le habia dejado y estaba muy triste y se habia caido el corazon. Queria decir que le habia partido el corazon (?). En ingles, hay que decir 'I have a broken heart, or, she broke my heart' - Tengo un corazon roto, o, me ha roto el corazon. Cada vez que hablamos de este tio, o nos vemos en algun sitio, nos llama, con carino, el tio que se le cayo el corazon!
